A leading consulting firm is seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) QC Engineer located in Sharjah, UAE. Job Title: Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) QC Engineer

Department: Quality Assurance / Quality Control

Location: UAE (As per project requirement)

Reports to: QA/QC Manager / Project Manager

Job Purpose

The E&I QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all electrical and instrumentation works at the project site are carried out in compliance with project specifications, standards, and quality requirements. The role includes inspection, testing, and documentation of all E&I activities to ensure compliance with applicable codes and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Quality Control & Inspection
    • Perform inspection of electrical and instrumentation installations (cable laying, terminations, panel installation, grounding, lighting, etc.) as per approved drawings and standards.
    • Inspect instrumentation work including calibration, loop checks, impulse tubing, and junction box wiring.
    • Verify that all materials and equipment used meet project specifications and have valid calibration/test certificates.
    • Witness testing activities such as insulation resistance, continuity and functional checks.
    • Review and verify electrical/instrumentation test packs prior to submission for final acceptance.
  2. Documentation & Reporting
    • Prepare and maintain inspection test reports (ITRs), checklists, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
    • Maintain calibration records of test equipment.
    • Review and update quality dossiers and turnover packages.
    • Assist in preparing Quality Control procedures and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
  3. Compliance & Standards
    • Ensure all works comply with relevant international codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, ISA, etc.).
    • Verify compliance with safety, environmental, and client requirements.
    • Coordinate with the client’s QC representative and attend joint inspections.
  4. Coordination & Support
    • Support construction and commissioning teams in resolving quality-related issues.
    • Coordinate with subcontractors for quality-related activities and ensure adherence to QA/QC plans.
    • Participate in internal and external quality audits.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Electronics Engineering.
  • Minimum 2 to 5+ years experience in QA/QC in E&I construction (Water industries, Oil & Gas / Power / Petrochemical / Industrial projects preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of E&I installation standards, testing, and commissioning procedures.
  • Familiar with inspection and test plans (ITP), method statements, and QA/QC documentation.
  • Certification preferred: relevant QC/E&I certifications.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical and instrumentation drawings (Single Line Diagrams, Loop Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams).
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
