Job Summary
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for coordinating the final electrical installation and station commissioning and then for the reliable operation, maintenance and fault analysis of stations LV to HV electrical equipment.
This role includes overseeing installations, repairs and compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) standards to ensure system performance safety and continuous improvement. The Engineer will lead emergency response efforts, prepare technical documentation and contribute to process enhancements in maintenance activities.
The Electrical Engineer will assist the Project Manager in coordinating all site construction and commissioning activities and after energization will assist the Maintenance Manager in organizing the maintenance activities required to keep the asset in sound technical condition, ensuring compliance with HSE standards and achieving the Project Companys performance indicators.
Responsibilities / Authorities
- Ensure proper coordination on site as Companys site representative of all stakeholders (Contractor, Owners engineer client etc.)
- Ensure all the maintenance activities are performed as per HSE contractual requirements and related laws.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment in line with the recommendations and procedures from the original equipment manufacturers (OEM).
- Conduct first level of trouble shouting works on electrical equipment to recover with the minimal downtime the availability of the system.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations and fault analysis to identify and resolve technical issues promptly.
- Prepare, maintain and submit maintenance reports, trouble shaking report and fault analysis report.
- Issue the daily work order to the maintenance team and follow up the daily maintenance activities.
- Update maintenance records and documentation in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Prepare and issue purchase orders for spare part replacement upon OEMs recommendations.
- Update the spare part stock through the CMMS.
- Ensure preventive maintenance on spare parts as per OEMs recommendations.
- Assist the Maintenance Manager.
Qualification and Experience
- Master or equivalent in electrical engineering.
- Minimum 5 years in highvoltage electrical network operation, maintenance or related field.
- Proven field experience in installation, commissioning or repair work is essential.
- Certifications: Relevant electrical engineering certifications are preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in power transmission.
- Experience in electrical installation and commissioning of power transmission assets (mandatory).
- Experience in maintenance of power transmission assets (mandatory).
- Familiarity with HVDC or FACTS systems (preferred).
- Skills in fault analysis and diagnostics for electrical networks and equipment.
- Experience in preparing documentation packages: maintenance reports, performance reports and fault analysis reports.
- Proficiency in root cause analysis (RCA) for electrical equipment.
- Experience in field operations including installation, commissioning and repair work.
- Strong ability to interpret and work with electrical data (voltage, active and reactive power, etc.).
- Capable of clear and concise communication and skills in technical reporting and documentation.
- Ability to work effectively in high- pressure emergency situations.
- High standards for accuracy in documentation and adherence.
Work Details
Primarily office based with frequent travel to offshore and onshore facilities. Requires flexibility to work outside standard office hours including weekends and holidays as needed. Call on duty.
