Job description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Designer with 5-7 years of expertise in the engineering phase of oil and gas projects. The ideal candidate will excel in creating detailed electrical designs ensuring compliance with industry standards and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. This role requires immediate availability to join a dynamic team working on challenging projects.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and prepare detailed electrical design drawings layouts schematics and diagrams for oil and gas projects during the engineering phase.
• Perform cable routing tray layouts lighting and grounding designs using industry-standard software.
• Collaborate with engineers and other designers to ensure design consistency and adherence to project specifications.
• Ensure compliance with international standards codes and client requirements.
• Review and verify design accuracy incorporating revisions based on engineering feedback and client approvals.
• Assist in the preparation of material take-offs (MTO) and bill of materials (BOM).
• Participate in design reviews model coordination and clash detection activities.
• Ensure deliverables are submitted on time and meet quality expectations.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5-7 years of experience as an Electrical Designer in the oil and gas sector.
• Proven expertise in the engineering phase including detailed design and drafting.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD ETAP or SmartPlant Electrical.
• Familiarity with standards like IEC NEC and API.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems including power distribution instrumentation and control systems.
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
• Immediate availability is a must.
