Job description

The Distribution Supervisor oversees the day‑to‑day distribution and transport operations across the UAE to ensure timely, cost‑effective, and compliant delivery of goods. This role is responsible for route planning, driver supervision, fleet utilisation, cost control, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The position works closely with the warehouse, sales, and customer service teams to achieve high delivery performance, minimise operational costs, and maintain customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Transport Operations Management – Supervise daily transportation operations, including planning, dispatching, and monitoring fleet performance.
  • Allocate vehicles to delivery schedules in coordination with warehouse and distribution teams.
  • Track vehicle movement using GPS and Transport Management Systems (TMS) to ensure adherence to assigned routes and schedules.
  • Route Planning & Scheduling – Optimize delivery routes and schedules to maximise fleet utilisation and reduce delivery time.
  • Analyse geographic delivery zones to improve route efficiency and reduce fuel consumption.
  • Team Supervision – Lead, manage and train a team of 50+ drivers, maintaining high morale, discipline and productivity.
  • Monitor drivers’ performance, attendance and compliance with company policies.
  • Cost Control – Monitor and manage transportation costs, including fuel, overtime and maintenance.
  • Prepare transport KPIs and work on continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs.
  • Fleet Management – Ensure vehicles are roadworthy, well‑maintained and compliant with UAE regulations.
  • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance with the maintenance team.
  • Documentation & Compliance – Ensure accurate completion of delivery documents, transport logs and vehicle checklists.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance records (RTA, Police, Insurance and other authorities).
  • Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) – Enforce safety standards for loading/unloading, driving behaviour, and emergency protocols.
  • Conduct safety briefings and toolbox talks for drivers.
  • Customer Service & Coordination – Liaise with customer service and sales teams to ensure on‑time delivery and issue resolution.
  • Handle delivery‑related complaints promptly to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Other Duties – Perform any other tasks assigned by the Operations Supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years in transport/distribution supervision, preferably in FMCG, trading or logistics.
  • Skilled in Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and route optimization tools.
  • Knowledge of UAE logistics regulations and local road networks.
  • Strong leadership, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage large driver and fleet teams effectively.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and ERP systems (MBC, Sage, Oracle etc.).
  • Valid UAE Driving Licence.
  • English and Hindi (required); Arabic (advantage).
