JOB SUMMARY

Functions as the property's strategic financial business leader. The position champions, develops, and implements property-wide strategies that deliver products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the brand's target customers and property employees. The role provides financial expertise to successfully implement the brand service strategy and initiatives, while maximizing return on investment. Additionally, the role involves creating and executing a business plan aligned with the property and brand's strategies, focusing on financial activities and achieving desirable financial results.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

4-year bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting or related major; 3 years experience in finance, accounting, or related professional area.

OR

Master's degree in Finance and Accounting or related major; 1 year experience in finance, accounting, or related professional area.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Engaging in Strategic Planning and Decision Making

  • Develop strategies to improve profit, including estimating costs and benefits, exploring new business opportunities, etc.
  • Analyze information, forecast sales against expenses, and create annual budget plans.
  • Monitor actual sales against projected sales and analyze differences.
  • Identify principles, reasons, or facts by breaking down data into parts.
  • Develop and implement new business plans creatively and practically.
  • Create the annual operating budget for the property.
  • Support budget reviews to identify cost-saving and productivity opportunities.
  • Implement controls to manage business risks.
  • Ensure strong accounting and operational controls to safeguard assets and improve profitability.
  • Analyze financial data and market trends.
  • Lead development and implementation of an annual business plan aligned with strategic directions.
  • Monitor operating departments' actual and projected sales, providing analytical support.
  • Produce accurate forecasts to enable responsive operations.

Leading Finance Teams

  • Use interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocate sound decision-making; demonstrate honesty and integrity; lead by example.
  • Communicate strategic goals and priorities clearly to subordinates.
  • Leverage leadership and communication skills to influence the executive team and property strategies, leading your team effectively.
  • Oversee audit processes and ensure compliance.
  • Assign responsibilities clearly and conduct performance appraisals.

Anticipating and Delivering on the Needs of Key Stakeholders

  • Attend meetings, communicate with owners, and understand priorities and strategic focus.
  • Meet the needs of key stakeholders, including owners and guests.
  • Advise the GM and executive team on operational and financial issues.
  • Communicate financial concepts clearly to drive behavior and understanding.
  • Manage property working capital and cash flow according to standards.

Developing and Maintaining Finance Goals

  • Ensure accurate documentation of profits and losses.
  • Monitor taxes, ensure they are current, collected, or accrued.
  • Submit reports timely, develop performance and budget goals, and review audit issues.

Managing Projects and Policies

  • Generate accurate reports and reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Managing and Conducting Human Resource Activities

  • Ensure cross-training, fair policy administration, proper onboarding, and development plans for team members.
  • Conduct performance reviews and participate in hiring as needed.
