Overview

Like all members of the kitchen team, the Commis Chef must maintain high standards of health and safety including personal hygiene. You will be responsible for producing creative and excellent dishes to ensure that guests’ expectations are met and fully satisfied. The Commis Chef must communicate effectively with other members of the kitchen team, accept constructive criticism, and carry out orders. They should remain calm while multi-tasking as they are often called upon to handle many orders simultaneously in a brief amount of time. The Commis Chef is part of the kitchen team and must be willing to perform basic food preparation and organization tasks in the kitchen. This role requires delivering excellence in your area of responsibility and supporting others to do the same for the successful operation of the kitchen and guest enjoyment.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety, including personal hygiene.
  • Produce creative and excellent dishes to meet and exceed guests’ expectations.
  • Communicate effectively with the kitchen team and gracefully receive constructive criticism.
  • Carry out orders accurately and remain calm while multi-tasking, often handling multiple orders in a short time.
  • Perform basic tasks of food preparation and organization in the kitchen.
  • Support others in their responsibilities to contribute to the kitchen’s success and guest enjoyment.
