ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises pharmacy students during clinical training placements in hospitals, clinics, and community pharmacy settings.
- Conducts and supports laboratory sessions, skills labs, and tutorial classes within the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
- Provides instruction and guidance on clinical pharmacy practice, pharmacotherapy, patient counselling, pharmaceutical care, and professional decision-making.
- Supports students in applying theoretical knowledge during laboratory exercises, case-based tutorials, simulations, and real patient-care settings under supervision.
- Collaborates with course coordinators, faculty members, preceptors, and healthcare professionals to ensure effective integration of academic and clinical training.
- Prepares laboratory materials, training plans, tutorial content, learning objectives, and required documentation for both on-campus and off-campus training activities.
- Monitors student attendance, performance, and professional conduct during laboratory sessions, tutorials, and clinical rotations.
- Assesses student performance in laboratories, tutorials, and clinical training, provides constructive feedback, and supports remediation plans when required.
- Ensures that all teaching, laboratory, and training activities comply with university policies, accreditation standards, laboratory safety regulations, healthcare protocols, and patient safety requirements.
- Supports assessments including practical exams, OSCEs, case presentations, and experiential evaluations.
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (BPharm or PharmD).
- A Master’s degree in Clinical Pharmacy or a pharmacy-related discipline is preferred.
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in hospital pharmacy, clinical pharmacy, or healthcare practice is required.
- Experience in clinical teaching, laboratory instruction, tutorial facilitation, or training supervision is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- In-depth knowledge of clinical pharmacy practice, pharmacotherapy, and patient-centred care.
- Strong understanding of healthcare protocols, patient safety standards, laboratory safety requirements, and professional pharmacy practice guidelines.
- Ability to provide effective clinical supervision and academic support in laboratories, tutorials, and clinical settings.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage schedules, student records, and assessment data using MS Office applications (MS Word, Excel).
- Proficiency in using Audio-Visual equipment, learning management systems, and student information systems.
