A global hotel chain in Dubai is seeking a maintenance technician to handle repair requests and perform preventive maintenance on hotel equipment. The ideal candidate should have a high school diploma and some experience in general maintenance. Strong customer service skills and ability to lift heavy objects are essential. POSITION SUMMARY
Respond to guest repair requests and communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues. Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen, and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines. Carry equipment such as tools and radios. Identify, locate, and operate all shutoff valves for equipment and utility shutoffs for buildings. Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed. Communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts using approved communication standards. Display basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in areas such as air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building maintenance. Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repairs, light bulb and A/C filter replacements, and cleanup of repair areas. Test, troubleshoot, and repair various equipment including plumbing, electrical components, and guestroom items. Program TVs and perform inventory duties related to housekeeping and engineering. Use Lockout/Tagout systems for maintenance. Repair landscaping and sprinkler systems. Demonstrate basic computer skills for scheduling and temperature adjustments.
Follow all safety, security, and company policies; report maintenance problems, hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training; and store flammable materials properly. Maintain professional appearance, confidentiality, and protect company assets. Greet and acknowledge guests, anticipate and address their needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests sincerely. Adhere to quality standards. Develop positive relationships with colleagues, support team efforts, and respond to concerns appropriately. Communicate clearly and professionally. Lift objects up to 50 pounds independently and heavier objects with assistance, including moving on stairs, ramps, or ladders. Reach overhead and below knees, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping as needed. Use computers to access and update work-related information. Perform other reasonable duties as requested.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D.
Experience: Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation, and painting. Hotel engineering or maintenance experience is a plus.
Supervisory Experience: None required.
