About the Role

We are looking for a Data & Spam Analyst to join our growing AdTech team. This hybrid role combines data driven analysis with spam/fraud detection to ensure both accurate business reporting and a secure advertising ecosystem. The ideal candidate will be adept at analyzing large datasets, delivering actionable insights, and proactively identifying fraudulent or spammy activities that can impact performance and revenue integrity.

Key Responsibilities
Business & Data Analytics
  • Manage business reporting for multiple teams and consistently monitor performance against KPIs.
  • Verify the integrity and accuracy of revenue reporting across systems.
  • Track and analyze critical data points influencing core business activities, escalating insights to stakeholders when necessary.
  • Deliver ad-hoc reports and presentations for urgent business needs, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Execute daily, weekly, and monthly reporting processes as per business requirements to drive operational excellence.
Spam & Fraud Analysis
  • Monitor ad traffic, user behavior, and system logs to detect anomalies, fraudulent activity, and spam patterns.
  • Investigate suspicious activity, including invalid clicks, bot traffic, ad stacking, cloaking, and impression fraud.
  • Develop and refine rules, filters, and detection mechanisms to mitigate fraud and protect advertising integrity.
  • Collaborate with product, compliance, and engineering teams to strengthen spam/fraud detection systems.
  • Document fraud/spam cases with clear evidence, providing insights to prevent recurrence and improve platform trust.
  • Stay up to date with emerging spam and fraud trends in the AdTech ecosystem, recommending proactive defense strategies.
Technical Skills
Required
  • Proficiency in SQL and Excel for querying, reporting, and data manipulation.
  • Familiarity with Python for automation, anomaly detection, and data processing.
  • Skilled in creating dashboards and visualizations using BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of ETL processes and ability to manage master data across multiple sources.
  • Keen attention to detail with the ability to analyze numbers, spot patterns, and identify anomalies.
Good to Have
  • Experience with statistical and analytical tools (SAS, SPSS, R).
  • Knowledge of fraud/spam detection methodologies in digital advertising.
  • Familiarity with big data tools (Hive, Spark, Presto).
  • Understanding of advertising platforms (Google Ads, DSPs, SSPs, Exchanges).
  • Exposure to machine learning models for fraud detection is a plus.
Soft Skills
  • Strong communication skills to present insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced AdTech environment.
  • Proactive problem-solver with an investigative mindset and high ethical standards.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with product, finance, engineering, and compliance teams.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or related field. (BE, BSc (IT), BCA, MCA, BSc(CS))
  • 3–5 years of experience in Data Analytics, Spam/Fraud Analysis, or related roles within AdTech, digital marketing, or internet technology companies.
  • Proven ability to work with large datasets and generate actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated experience in fraud/spam detection or risk analytics is highly preferred.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect data insights to revenue, profitability, and operational efficiency.
