Position: Assistant Nurse (Outpatient Department - OPD)

Job Summary:

The Assistant Nurse (OPD) provides nursing care and support to patients visiting the Outpatient Department of a healthcare facility. Under the supervision of registered nurses, they assist with patient assessments, administer medications, dress wounds, collect laboratory samples, and provide emotional support to patients and their families. They also ensure a safe, comfortable, and clean environment for patients during their outpatient visits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Care Assistance: Assist registered nurses in performing patient assessments and developing care plans.
  • Administer Medications & Treatments: Administer prescribed medications and treatments as directed by registered nurses.
  • Prepare Patients: Prepare patients for examinations and medical procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Collect Samples: Collect samples (blood, urine, etc.) for laboratory testing.
  • Monitor Vital Signs: Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes to the registered nurse.
  • Wound Care: Assist in dressing wounds and changing dressings according to the nurse's instructions.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients on self-care, treatment plans, and provide emotional support as needed.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and document all activities.
  • Maintain OPD Environment: Ensure the OPD area is clean, organized, and ready for patient care.
  • Patient Transport Assistance: Assist with transporting patients and their belongings within the healthcare facility.
Qualifications and Requirements:
