Job summary
A leading medical university in the UAE is seeking an experienced educator in Medical Microbiology to teach undergraduate students. Responsibilities include delivering lectures on various microbiology topics, conducting practical laboratory sessions, and supervising student research. Candidates require an MBBS degree and a Ph.D. in Medical Microbiology along with 2-3 years of teaching experience. This role also involves contributing to curriculum development and quality assurance efforts.
Qualifications
- MBBS degree with a Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Medical Microbiology.
- Strong record of research publications in indexed journals.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of post-Ph.D. teaching experience.
Responsibilities
- Teaching Medical Microbiology, including bacteriology, virology, mycology, and parasitology.
- Designing and facilitating practical and laboratory sessions.
- Leading problem-based learning and case discussions.
- Supervising and mentoring students in research projects.
- Conducting independent and collaborative research.
- Contributing to curriculum design and quality assurance initiatives.

- Teaching Medical Microbiology, including bacteriology, virology, mycology, and parasitology, to undergraduate medical students within an integrated, competency-based curriculum.
- Designing and facilitating practical and laboratory sessions, including culture techniques, antimicrobial sensitivity testing, molecular diagnostics, and infection control practices, ensuring relevance to clinical applications.
- Leading problem-based learning, case discussions, and infection-related clinical correlations to strengthen students’ understanding of the role of microbiology in patient care.
- Supervising and mentoring students in research projects, scholarly presentations, and publications in microbiology and related disciplines.
- Conducting independent and collaborative research in medical microbiology, infectious diseases, or antimicrobial resistance, with dissemination in peer-reviewed journals.
- Actively contributing to curriculum design, accreditation processes, and quality assurance initiatives, as well as participating in departmental, college, and university service activities.
