Accountant in Ras-al-Khaimah, UAE

Salary: 1200 AED/month

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team in Ras-al-Khaimah. The ideal candidate should have a thorough understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting and taxation regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing accurate financial reports, and engaging in the evaluation of financial data.

Job Summary:

The Accountant is responsible for overseeing the accurate maintenance of financial records and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The Accountant will provide support to the Finance Department and will ensure accuracy of records by verifying, reconciling, and analyzing account information.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare journal entries and reconcile bank accounts on a daily basis
  • Assist with month end close process by preparing journal entries as requested
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
  • Generate timely financial reports such as cash flow statements, income statements, balance sheets, and other ad hoc reports as needed
  • Ensure accuracy of invoices by verifying calculations against supporting documentation
  • Prepare income tax returns, sales tax returns, payroll tax returns, etc.
  • Review existing accounting processes for efficiency improvements

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
  • Professional accounting certification (CPA/CA) preferred but not required
  • Proven experience as an Accountant or similar role
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping procedures
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Ability to analyze financial data effectively
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
