Job description

Our Client, a prominent brand in the Market Research & Data Analytics space, is seeking to employ an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to their team based in Port Elizabeth.

Requirements:

  • Comm (Hons) or equivalent with completed SAICA/SAIPA/CIMA articles (or similar).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ financial experience in auditing, FMCG, retail, research, or related industries.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in revenue and cost management.
  • Ability to identify and respond proactively to changes in the financial environment.
  • Collaborative and professional approach.

Responsibilities, but not limited to:

Financial Accounting

  • Assist with monthly financial accounting processes.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with tax and financial reporting standards.
  • Finalize individual entity reporting packs.
  • Perform monthly reviews of balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
  • Analyse trial balances for errors and deviations, and discuss findings with management.

Statutory Reporting & Annual Audit

  • Review client, supplier, and service provider contracts.
  • Maintain contracts register.
  • Assist with statutory reporting and group consolidation across multiple entities.
  • Support planning and execution of annual audits.

Treasury Management

  • Support accounts payable and receivable functions.
  • Review debtor and creditor statement reconciliations.
  • Review bank reconciliations.
  • Conduct multi-currency cashflow planning.
  • Initiate weekly payment runs.

Taxation

  • Manage VAT submissions and reporting.
  • Handle EMP submissions and reporting.
  • Support corporation and withholding tax compliance.

Payroll

  • Process payroll accounting.
  • Prepare time tracking reports and analysis.

Financial Leadership

  • Provide guidance to junior and intermediate accountants.
  • Perform administrative duties as needed to support the finance function.
