grade components, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of mission-critical hardware that enables the next generation of space exploration.

Position Overview
Support the precision measurement, calibration, and quality assurance of space-grade components and systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and contributing to the reliability and performance of mission-critical hardware.
Required Experience
- 0-2 years in a manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, or precision engineering environment.
- Experience or exposure to dimensional metrology and quality control.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and apply GD&T principles.
- Basic understanding of calibration processes and traceability standards.
Required Qualifications
- Higher Certificate (NQF 5) in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, Physics, or Applied Sciences.
Advantage (Not Compulsory)
- Diploma in Metrology, Quality Assurance, or a related Engineering field.
- Familiarity with cleanroom environments and contamination control procedures.
- Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) or optical measurement systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Measurement & Calibration Support
- Assist in performing dimensional and physical measurements on aerospace components and optics using precision instruments. (Vernier, Microscope, Thread Gauges, Go-No Go Gauges)
- Support calibration of instruments and equipment.
- Maintain calibration records and ensure traceability to national and international standards. Data Integrity & Reporting
- Record and analyse measurement data, identifying deviations and reporting findings to senior staff.
- Support the generation of metrology reports for internal use and client deliverables.
- Ensure data is stored securely and complies with company and regulatory standards.
- Equipment Maintenance & Readiness
- Monitor the condition and performance of metrology equipment.
- Ensure equipment is available and ready for use in testing and production environments.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Support quality audits and inspections by providing metrology data and documentation for NCR process.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions related to metrology.
- Continuous Learning & Collaboration
- Engage in training and development to enhance metrology and measurement expertise.
- Stay informed about advances in measurement technology and space hardware standards.
- Collaboration & Continuous Learning
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance metrology skills.
