Job summary

Biocide Systems is seeking a reliable Part-Time Payroll Assistant to support accurate and timely payroll processing. The role involves payroll administration, employee records, timesheet management, and handling payroll queries with confidentiality.

This position is remote with flexible hours (approximately 20–25 hours per week) and a monthly salary. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organised, and interested in payroll, finance, or HR administration.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in payroll, finance administration, HR administration, or a similar role.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling numerical information.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
• Desirable: Experience using payroll software such as Sage Payroll, Xero, BrightPay, or similar systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and processing of monthly payroll.
• Maintain accurate employee payroll records, including starters, leavers, salary changes, and personal details.
• Process timesheets, overtime, holiday records, sickness information, and payroll adjustments.
• Support the calculation of wages, deductions, tax, National Insurance, and pension contributions.
• Respond to employee payroll queries professionally and promptly.
• Liaise with HR and management teams regarding payroll information.
• Ensure payroll data is accurate and processed within required deadlines.
• Maintain confidentiality of employee financial and personal information.
• Assist with payroll reports, audits, and administrative tasks.
• Keep up to date with payroll procedures and relevant employment legislation.
