China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park Development Group Co., Ltd. (CSSD) is the joint‑venture master developer set up by the governments of Singapore and China in 1994, to develop the flagship bilateral project Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP). In 2019, CSSD was successfully listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. Today, CSSD is one of the largest township developers in China, and has replicated the successful SIP model, with multiple locations in Mainland China (Nantong, Chuzhou, Jiashan, Yinchuan and Changshu) under its portfolio of large‑scale township development projects. CSSD has 3 main subsidiaries (that focuses on business park spaces, sustainability and investments) that support its overall vision and growth strategy.

CSSD also undertakes investment promotion and industry development for SIP and CSSD township projects, with a mission to create long term sustainable economic growth and a vibrant business environment.

Outside of China, together with our strategic partner JTC Corporation, CSSD has established the “CSSD International Business Cooperation Centre” (IBCC), a 4700 sqm facility located in Singapore’s one‑north district. IBCC focuses on creating a business platform for inbound Chinese investments into/ through Singapore and Singapore‑based companies planning to venture into the China market.

We are looking for 1 candidate to join CSSD Singapore in the following position:

• Executive/ Senior Executive/ Principal Executive (Investment promotion & business development) - minimum 2 years of working experience

This role will report to the General Manager of CSSD Singapore.

• Undertake investment promotion and industry development activities and work with competitive businesses (both Chinese and international ones) to assist them in the decision‑making process of investment/ business expansion into China/ within China/ out of China
• Identifying and evaluating strategic opportunities and partnerships that are aligned with CSSD’s interest
• Contribute to the day‑to‑day operations of the “CSSD International Business Cooperation Centre” and accomplish relevant team KPIs
• Actively contribute to ad‑hoc projects tasked to CSSD Singapore by higher management
• Contribute to workflows that relate to the liaison work of the Suzhou Centre (Singapore) and Suzhou Industrial Park Administrative Committee (Singapore representative office) that are parked under the responsibility of CSSD Singapore

• Be motivated to independently research, identify and engage prospective businesses to build a strong pipeline for investment promotion opportunities into SIP and CSSD’s township projects
• Build a sound understanding of regional industry and business trends
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing businesses in the team’s pipeline that are looking to invest into CSSD’s township projects
• Speak, read, type and communicate effectively in Chinese
• Be comfortable with the high level of interaction with China‑origin business owners, China business ecosystem stakeholders and relevant China government officials
• Assist new and existing clients and their key stakeholders in resolving various issues throughout their decision‑making process
• Build partnerships and expand the CSSD ecosystem to generate meaningful collaborations and positive outcomes
• Organize and staff incoming and outgoing official delegation visits by government/ corporate visitors

• Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident, with minimum 2 years of working experience
• Minimum education qualification of bachelor’s degree from reputable Singapore local universities or top 100 ranked universities
• Fluency in mandarin (both spoken and written) is essential, due to the nature of work which involves a very extremely high amount of communication with various stakeholders based in China
• Comfortable with business travelling and occasional periods of working outside of Singapore (in external offices)
• Demonstrates integrity, strong professional ethics and a high sense of responsibility. Possesses excellent teamwork, communication, and coordination skills. Detail‑oriented, resilient, and logical
• Excellent interpersonal and effective communication skills
• Preference will be made for candidates that have prior exposure in investment promotion/ economic development/ China or ASEAN market exposure/ Experience studying or working (internships) in China/ Experience working in relevant Singapore Government agencies with an exposure to front line/ external stakeholder facing functions
• A mature outlook and a sincere interest in current affairs, geopolitical trends and business development in China and ASEAN
• A sound understanding of how politics, business, trade, and technology trends are interconnected
