Responsibilities
- Support the Controls Testing Utility by assessing control design, designing control testing tools, developing procedures, ensuring transitions, dispositioning exceptions, and creating insights.
- Carry key responsibility for Control Design Assessment (CDA) by executing the CDA checklist/procedures and recording results in Citi Risk & Control.
- Own significant portions of control testing design activity, including writing tool descriptions and completing QUEST setup.
- Develop control testing procedures in Confluence and obtain necessary sign‑offs from covered businesses and functions.
- Train Central Execution teams overseas on all designed tools and established procedures.
- Make decisions on controls testing outlier disputes and raise concerns through IMPACT Concerns or QUEST Observation Logs.
- Create materials for Operational Risk Forums (ORF) and senior meetings, investigate causes for deviating results, and elevate excessive risk situations.
- Develop and enforce quality‑checking routines to ensure policy compliance.
- Support team members on topics ranging from design to performance management and platform basics.
- Drive continuous improvements in accuracy, efficiency, timeliness, and quality of MCA control design assessment and controls testing.
- Maintain relationships and hold stakeholders accountable to support the business strategy.
- Assess risk appropriately, safeguard Citigroup’s reputation, and ensure compliance with laws, rules, and regulations; supervise others and enforce accountability.
- Support other relevant departmental work as directed by the manager.
Qualifications & Skills
- 6–10 years in operational risk management, compliance, audit, or other control‑related functions in financial services.
- Subject‑matter expert on control design, execution, or testing.
- Excellent understanding of MCA (Manager Control Assessment) frameworks and processes.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Strong written and presentation communication skills.
- People and relationship‑management skills with influence and collaboration.
- Independent thinker capable of challenging business decisions.
- Experience working effectively on virtual, geographically dispersed teams.
- Preferred: investment securities and/or insurance licenses (Series 7, 9, 10, 24, 63, 53, 55, 66, L&H).
Travel Requirement
Education
- Bachelor’s/University degree; Master’s degree preferred.
