A leading global financial institution in Singapore is looking for a candidate to join the Commodities Team. The role primarily involves customer-facing responsibilities with corporate and institutional clients, focusing on OTC Precious Metals and Base Metals, with plans to expand into other commodities. Ideal candidates will have at least three years of sales/trading experience, strong teamwork skills, and the ability to navigate complex market mechanics.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in sales and/or trading in markets.
• Proficiency in communication, pricing, execution, and settlement.
• Understanding of market drivers in Asia.

Responsibilities

• Onboard new clients and maintain existing relationships.
• Work with legal, credit, risk, and global commodities teams.
• Manage daily positions and P&L reconciliations.
• Identify trading opportunities and provide client commentary.

Job Description

The Commodities Team at TD Singapore seeks a candidate for a unique opportunity. Reporting to the Head of Sales, the role will be primarily customer-facing across the bank’s corporate and institutional client base. The principal business is in OTC Precious Metals and Base Metals. Looking ahead the business will be evolving into other commodities such as Energy and Carbon products already being traded at TD North America.

Principal Responsibilities

• Onboarding new clients and maintaining existing client relationships
• Working effectively with key internal stakeholders including legal, credit and risk teams and the global commodities team
• Assist in growing client franchise through consistent pricing and liquidity provision
• Daily position management and P&L position reconciliation and risk reconciliation
• Tracking market developments to identify trading opportunities and providing commentary to clients

Qualifications & Skills

• Combined 3 years of experience in sales and/or trading in markets
• Proficiency in the full trade cycle – communication, pricing, execution and settlement
• Solid fundamental understanding of market mechanics and drivers – preferably in Asia
• Strong track record of working across teams and jurisdictions
• Collaborative attitude and strong interpersonal skills
• Mandarin language skills beneficial but not required
