Job summary

A leading association in Singapore is looking for a VP of IT to lead the technology strategy and operations. Job description

The VP, IT will lead SID’s technology strategy and operations, ensuring that its IT systems, data, and digital initiatives support the organisation’s mission and objectives. This role oversees cyber resilience, data protection, IT infrastructure, enterprise systems, and digital transformation. The incumbent will ensure compliance with Singapore’s regulatory requirements including the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and relevant cybersecurity guidelines while driving innovation and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  1. IT Strategy and Governance
  • Develop and implement SID’s overall IT strategy and roadmap aligned with organisational goals
  • Establish IT governance structures, standards, and best practices to ensure systems reliability, scalability, and alignment with business priorities
  • Oversee budgeting, procurement, and vendor management for IT services and solutions
Cyber Resilience and Information Security
  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of SID’s cybersecurity framework, ensuring compliance with relevant authorities such as PDPC and CSA
  • Manage cybersecurity risk assessments, incident response, and business continuity planning
  • Regularly review and update SID’s cyber resilience policies, security protocols, and access controls
Data Protection and Compliance
  • Serve as the key liaison for all data protection efforts, ensuring adherence to the PDPA and other applicable privacy regulations.
  • Oversee data governance frameworks that promote data accuracy, confidentiality, and ethical use.
  • Act as the Data Protection Officer (DPO) and fulfill DPO responsibilities
IT Infrastructure and Operations
  • Oversee the performance, security, and scalability of SID’s core IT infrastructure, networks, hardware, and cloud systems
  • Manage system uptime, backups, and disaster recovery planning
  • Supervise IT support functions to ensure effective user support and system maintenance
Digital Transformation and Innovation
  • Spearhead digital transformation initiatives to enhance member engagement, process automation, and operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with business units to identify opportunities for technology-enabled improvements
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies consistent with SID’s goals
Information Management and Enterprise Systems
  • Oversee SID’s enterprise membership system (currently iMIS by ASI), including enhancements, customisation, and integration with other platforms
  • Work with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure systems meet operational and reporting needs
  • Ensure data integrity, analytics capability, and user access management across platforms
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • At least 8 years of experience in IT management, with proven leadership in cybersecurity, infrastructure management, and digital transformation
  • Understanding of PDPA, Singapore’s Cybersecurity Act, and other relevant technology risk management guidelines
  • Strong vendor and stakeholder management skills, with experience in managing outsourced IT services
  • Experience overseeing enterprise applications such as iMIS or similar CRM/membership systems preferred
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
