A reputable ship management organization in Singapore seeks a Technical Superintendent to manage a fleet of chemical and product tankers. Ideal candidates are experienced Technical Superintendents or Chief Engineers (Class 1) with tanker experience looking to move ashore. Faststream is partnering with a reputable international ship management organisation to seek a Technical Superintendent to manage a fleet of chemical and product tankers, based in Singapore.
This position is open to experienced Technical Superintendents as well as Chief Engineers (Class 1) with relevant tanker experience who are looking to transition into a shore-based role.
Take end-to-end responsibility for the technical management of assigned chemical and/or product tankers
Ensure vessels are operated safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with Class, Flag, ISM, ISPS, and company requirements
Plan and manage maintenance, repairs, drydockings, surveys, and defect rectification within agreed budgets
Monitor vessel technical performance, reliability, and condition, implementing preventive and corrective actions as required
Provide technical support and guidance to shipboard engineering teams, including troubleshooting and operational advice
Liaise with shipyards, vendors, equipment manufacturers, and classification societies to ensure timely and cost-effective solutions
Review PMS data, technical reports, and breakdown trends to drive continuous improvement
Support fleet initiatives related to efficiency, reliability, and regulatory compliance
Chief Engineer (Class 1) Certificate of Competency or prior shore-based experience as a Technical Superintendent
Sailing experience on chemical and/or product tankers is essential
Solid understanding of tanker systems, cargo handling equipment, and safety requirements
Familiarity with drydocking, surveys, and repair management
Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
Motivated Chief Engineers without prior shore experience are encouraged to apply
