Job summary

A maritime management firm in Singapore is seeking a qualified Technical Superintendent to manage vessel operations and ensure compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate will have a COC Class 1 certification and 3 to 5 years of experience in tanker companies. Responsibilities include maintaining vessels, executing maintenance systems, and budgeting. Candidates must be willing to travel to Fujairah on a rotational basis, and a background in handling foreign-going vessels is preferred.

Job description

Salary: $7,000 to $10,000
Location: Alexandra Point / Fujairah Branch Office (Rotation travel)
Working hours: 5 days, 9.30am to 5.30pm

The company owns and manages a fleet of coastal tankers and barges operating in Singapore, Malaysia and in the South East Asia region. We are seeking for qualified candidates to take up the challenges of Technical Superintendent based in Singapore and on rotation shift in Fujairah.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain vessels to the requirement of Classification Society, Flag state, Port State, Oil majors and state regulations that the vessels are plying.
  • Execute planned maintenance system and ensure compliance.
  • Approve and monitor repairs, prepare purchase order and works order.
  • Prepare dry-docking / repair specifications and monitor work progress.
  • Maintain vessel allocated budget and meet operational standard as required by Owners.
  • Carry out internal audits, risk assessment, incident investigation and closing out report.
  • Attend to all inspections by Class Society, Flag State, Port State, Underwriters and Oil Majors.
  • Liaise with Terminal Representative, Charterers, Agents, Operators and Fujairah Freezone Official.
  • At the Fujairah branch office, to be the first point of contact for vessel matters.
  • Assist Crew Department in coordinating crew matters.
Requirements
  • COC Class 1 holders with sailing experience on product tankers
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience ashore as a Technical Superintendent in tanker companies
  • Experience in handling Foreign going vessel
  • Must be willing to travel abroad (Fujairah) on a rotational basis
  • Familiar with Oil Majors vetting’s and inspections
