Job description

Planning & Design Manager is responsible for supporting the successful delivery of building construction projects through effective design coordination, planning, and scheduling.

This role ensures that designs comply with project requirements, regulatory standards, and client expectations while supporting project planning, sequencing, and timely execution.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, review, and coordinate detailed design drawings and technical documentation for building projects.
  • Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, MEP engineers, and subcontractors to ensure design integration and constructability.
  • Prepare and maintain project schedules, ensuring alignment with project milestones, deadlines, and resource allocation.
  • Conduct design feasibility studies and provide recommendations for optimization of construction methods and materials.
  • Monitor project progress against schedules, identifying potential delays or risks, and proposing corrective actions.
  • Assist in cost estimation and quantity take-offs based on design specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and quality standards.
  • Support the preparation of technical reports, progress reports, and design change documentation.
  • Coordinate with procurement and site teams to ensure timely availability of materials and resources aligned with project schedules.
  • Participate in design review meetings and provide technical input to support decision-making.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in building construction.
  • Strong knowledge of construction design standards, building codes, and planning methodologies.
  • Proficiency in design and drafting software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla, or equivalent.
  • Experience with project planning and scheduling tools (MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar).
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in design and planning.
