Position Summary

Hard disk drive (HDD) media and thin film manufacturing technology specialists possess strong technical leadership in HDD media processes, with a particular focus on HDD equipment and process development.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expertise in hard disk drive (HDD) media manufacturing and thin film processes, as well as coating equipment.
• Support the development, optimization, and stabilization of media coatings and magnetic layer deposition.
• Establish thin film processes, including sputtering, physical vapor deposition (PVD), chemical vapor deposition (CVD), and atomic layer deposition (ALD).
• Drive the development of related coating equipment.
• Support equipment development and process establishment.
• Collaborate with global materials, equipment, and manufacturing teams.
• Magnetic media coating and overlay deposition.
• Seed layer, underlayer, magnetic layer, and protective film stacking.
• Vacuum systems, vacuum chambers, targets, and process control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Materials Science, Physics, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in hard disk drive (HDD) applications; experience in dielectric or thin film manufacturing or equipment manufacturing.
• Proficient in thin film deposition equipment and process control.
• Design, development, verification, and manufacturing of high‑precision equipment and processes.
• A solid track record of academic, professional, and personal achievements relevant to the job requirements.
• Experience in the semiconductor or hard disk industry or in equipment development/design is preferred.
