Roles & Responsibilities

About the role

As a Tech Lead for ES Tech Consultancy Pte Ltd, you will play a vital role in leading the development and delivery of innovative technology solutions for the banking industry. Working in a contract position based in the Changi East Region, you will be responsible for guiding a team of talented developers and analysts to ensure the successful implementation of complex projects that drive business growth and efficiency.

What you'll be doing

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end technical design and delivery of Corporate Banking systems and applications.
• Work closely with business users, product owners, and project managers to translate functional requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Architect, design, and develop enterprise-grade applications using Java / J2EE frameworks and microservices on OpenShift container platform.
• Manage code quality, performance tuning, and ensure adherence to best practices and security standards.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including QA, DevOps, and Infrastructure for CI / CD, deployment, and production support.
• Oversee technical documentation, system design, and configuration management.
• Mentor developers and ensure continuous technical improvement within the team.
• Support integration with banking systems such as Payments, Liquidity, Trade, and Treasury modules.
• Communicate effectively with both English and Mandarin speaking stakeholders, including regional teams and vendors.

What we're looking for

• Min 8–10 years of experience in enterprise application development and system integration.
• At least 3 years of experience in a technical leadership or solution lead role within Corporate / Wholesale Banking domain.
• Hands‑on experience designing and deploying applications on OpenShift.
• Prior exposure to Corporate Banking products and workflows such as Payments, Accounts, Liquidity, or Cash Management preferred.
• Programming: Strong proficiency in Java / J2EE, Spring Framework, RESTful APIs, Microservices architecture.
• Platform: Experience with Red Hat OpenShift (containerization, deployment, scaling, and monitoring).
• Database: Proficiency in MySQL (schema design, query optimization, stored procedures).
• DevOps Tools: CI / CD pipeline tools such as Jenkins, Git, Maven, or similar.
• Cloud / Container Technologies: Docker, Kubernetes (added advantage).
• System Integration: SOAP / REST APIs, MQ, and event‑driven integration patterns.
• Security: Familiarity with OAuth2, JWT, SSL, and application security standards.
• Performance Tuning: Experience in optimizing backend systems for scalability and low latency.
