The Role

We are looking for a Tanker Freight Operator to join our growing freight team in Singapore. You will be the lead operator overseeing our Tanker Fleet reporting directly to the Freight Trader. We are seeking a driven individual who will play a key role in developing our tanker operations team, with the freedom to innovate and shape the desk as it grows.

Responsibilities
  • Optimise P&L of vessels by efficient voyage planning and communicating updates in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and issue voyage orders to owners ensuring compliance with charterers instructions and internal procedures.
  • Establish and grow working relationships with ship owners, agents and customers throughout operations.
  • Monitor voyage performance, speed & consumptions and bunker planning.
  • Responsible for agency appointments, pre-funding and coordinating with agents to facilitate smooth operations at ports.
  • Diligently carry out pre-fixture requirements from freight trader, this includes vessel clearance, freight calculations and optimisation of pre/post fixture activities.
  • Have a strong understanding of Charter Party terms and support freight desk when negotiating in pre-fixture.
  • Oversee all cargo documentation including NORs, LOPs, B/L instructions and LOIs.
  • Keep IMOS updated and voyage documentation filed according to our internal process. Issue freight invoices and monitor all costs associated with voyages.
Skills and Experience Required
  • Fluent in English both written and spoken. Additional languages are a plus.
  • 2+ years’ experience working in tanker operations for a trading house, ship owner or oil major.
  • Minimum bachelor’s level degree or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of tanker charter parties (Shelltime, BPVoy, ExxonVoy, Asbatankvoy, etc.)
  • Proficiency in MS Office and IMOS.
  • Clear communication skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and under pressure in a fast-paced environment that often requires out-of-hours coverage.
