Job Description

Business Function:

As a leader in treasury operations, DBS extends a broad range of capabilities in foreign exchange and derivatives, money market and futures, securities trading, to corporations, wealth management and financial institutions.

Global Financial Markets (GFM) provides total solutions to serve DBS clients' hedging and investment needs with a regional emphasis. We together with our wealth and institutional banking units, have a strong record of providing innovative solutions to meet our client needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Regional Product Sales responsibilities across various exchange traded and cleared derivatives.
  • Proficient in OTC commodities structures and products.
  • In addition, you need to be organised & very confident with numbers. We also expect you to be able to “connect the dots” across business, middle office and support units within the Bank, add value with your useful insights and present arguments, issues and findings in a logical and coherent manner.
  • As part of the strategy team, you will need to be creative and strong in data analytics, with an ability to identify trends and connect it to political, social, financial market, job/employment, economic growth and evaluate implications on current business strategy and help develop a response.
  • Candidate will attend business reviews and will be expected to assist in the follow up of some key issues raised, including getting involved in related projects that arise out of such issues. Involvement in such projects could range from project management (organising workshops) or providing advice/research to assist.
  • Tracking of achievements with our GFM Scorecard, setting future year priorities and preparation of quarterly engagements, will also be key responsibilities.
  • Build NTB and pipeline trackers, and formalise operations procedures within front office teams to safeguard from regulatory breaches.
  • Work alongside department head to develop policies and procedures governing the trading and execution of exchange traded and clear derivatives.
  • Contribute to idea creation and execution in terms of new, innovative structures and solutions to broaden our product offering and risk management capabilities.
  • Work with internal stakeholders support new product launches including Credit, Legal, Compliance, Operations and Management to get products approved within the parameters set by our bank.
  • Interface with clients and regional partners to pitch deals/capabilities, working closely with them to structure/close deals which fit the firms risk framework.
  • Accountable for regular management (MIS) reporting, budgeting and forecasting for the GFM sales teams across the region.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics or related discipline with a minimum of 7 years of experience dealing with derivatives, exchange traded/cleared derivatives and/or physical commodities.
  • Proven track record with at least 3 years’ experience in managing a team.
  • Possess requisite CMFAS licence for dealing and advising on over the counter and exchange-traded derivatives contracts.
  • Self-driven, motivated team player, strong client focus and meticulous.
  • Creative collaborator who adapt to change and thrive in a fast-paced global environment.
  • Able to work under pressure and possess excellent presentation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of Financial Markets is a mandatory.
