Job summary

A construction firm in Singapore is seeking a Structural Steel Engineer to undertake technical designs and coordinate with teams. The ideal candidate has a recognized degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and 3 to 8 years of experience in steel structure design. Familiarity with engineering software tools like Excel and Tekla is preferred. Competitive salary package offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering that is recognised by the Professional Engineers Board of Singapore.
• Preferably 3 to 8 years of experience in steel structure design or equivalent.
• Familiarity with specified software tools is a plus.

Position: Structural Steel Engineer (Job ID: 19889)

Location: Tanjong Pagar
Salary: Basic + VB

Job Description

• Undertake detailed technical and structural designs, prepare calculation reports and shop drawings, instruct drafters and check/amend fabrication drawings.
• Review and improve design considerations and assumptions based on project requirements on competitive and economical approaches.
• Liaise and coordinate with operation teams, clients, consultants and/or authorities on technical issues and to ensure design intents are met.
• Provide technical engineering advice to comply with Singapore design standards, codes, specifications and authorities’ regulations.
• Propose value engineering, design improvement, optimization and innovation to improve operation efficiency and maximize construction profit.
• Follow up with projects in charged closely, visit factory and site to provide technical advices and supports to operation team.
• Other ad hoc job assigned by Technical Manager or the Company.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Civil and/ or Structural Engineering that is recognised by the Professional Engineers Board of Singapore.
• Preferably 3 to 8 years’ experience in steel structure design, earth retaining stabilizing structures design or equivalent.
• Preferably to be conversant with Excel, Tekla Tedds, Tekla Structural Designer and Staad.pro, etc as work required.
