Overview

The Department of Anaesthesiology, Intensive Care and Pain Medicine is looking for passionate anaesthesiologists with the relevant experience to join us. The department is one of the largest anaesthesia departments in Singapore serving a catchment population of over 1 million. We provide anaesthesia for neurosurgery, general surgery, orthopaedic surgery, urology, otorhinolaryngology, ophthalmology as well as endoscopy and radiology. We also provide clinical care to critically ill patients in the surgical and neurosurgical intensive care units. We are recognized as a leading institution in neuroanaesthesia, neurocritical care, surgical Intensive care as well as regional anaesthesia.


The Specialist will be responsible for providing anaesthesia care to patients in the perioperative period. In addition, you are expected to provide pre-operative evaluation, preparation & counselling to patients in the Pre-admission Assessment, Counselling & Evaluation (PACE) Clinic and management of acute pain after surgery. You will also have the opportunity to be involved in clinical research as well as teaching of medical students, junior and senior residents during the course of the work in the department.


Responsibilities


  • Provide anaesthetic care in the perioperative period for diverse surgical cases.

  • Conduct pre-operative evaluation, preparation and counselling in the PACE Clinic.

  • Manage acute pain after surgery.

  • Contribute to clinical research and teach medical students, junior and senior residents in the department.


Qualifications

Requirements



  • Recognised basic medical qualification and postgraduate qualifications such as MMed, FANZCA, FRCA, FCAI and American Board of Anaesthesiology certificate which is registrable with the Singapore Medical Council (SMC).

  • Completed a recognised advanced specialist training programme acceptable for accreditation as a Specialist Anaesthetist with the Specialist Accreditation Board (SAB) and Ministry of Health (MOH).
