A leading technology firm in Singapore seeks an experienced IT professional to lead projects delivering database and middleware solutions for mission-critical banking applications. The role involves end-to-end project management, stakeholder coordination, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Candidates should have over 15 years of experience in IT, particularly in database administration and infrastructure migration, along with strong SQL tuning and shell scripting skills. To analyse, design and architect the infrastructure, middleware & database transformation related enhancements for mission‑critical banking applications, ensuring stability, compliance and high availability. The role requires strong expertise in Server Hardware, Server OS and schedulers, Oracle Database, Middleware (WebLogic, Forms & Reports, WebSphere), integration tools for maintaining server performance as per requirement and project delivery, along with proven leadership in managing stakeholders, migrations and regulatory‑driven projects across APAC.
Install and configure Oracle Databases (9i–19c), including RAC and standalone environments, with proper sizing, storage allocation, and security hardening.
Perform installation and configuration of Oracle WebLogic Server (12c/14c), including creating domains, clusters, and managed servers for high‑availability setups.
Setup and configure Oracle Forms & Reports infrastructure, including instance creation, runtime configuration, and integration with WebLogic domains.
Design and configure JDBC data sources, connection pools, and deployment environments for applications (WAR/EAR).
Configure SSL/TLS, SSO (SiteMinder/Secure SSO), and other security components during middleware installation.
Fine‑tune Oracle Forms & Reports runtime parameters, ensuring faster response times and stable concurrent user sessions.
Analyse and resolve Forms rendering issues, report generation delays, and session bottlenecks in production environments.
Perform SQL query tuning and optimization using execution plans, indexes and bind variables to improve transaction performance in critical banking applications.
Analyse AWR (Automatic Workload Repository) and ADDM (Automatic Database Diagnostic Monitor) reports to identify system bottlenecks, inefficient queries, and resource‑heavy sessions.
Optimize PL/SQL procedures, packages, and migration scripts, reducing execution time and improving efficiency in large‑scale data migration projects.
Monitor database memory structures (SGA, PGA) and adjust configurations for optimal throughput.
Fine‑tune database parameters, indexes, and statistics to ensure high availability and minimal response time.
Collaborate with application developers and business analysts to review SQL code and recommend improvements before production deployment.
Support client teams by providing recommendations for SQL & DB environment performance improvements.
Ensure database tuning practices comply with audit and performance SLAs for mission‑critical banking systems.
Design, develop, and maintain shell scripts to automate routine database, middleware, and application administration tasks (backups, monitoring, job scheduling, log rotation, file transfers).
Enhance existing scripts by improving error handling, logging, and performance optimisation to ensure reliability in production environments.
Troubleshoot and fix script‑related issues in BAU (Business‑As‑Usual) and project environments, ensuring minimal business impact.
Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to analyse requirements and implement script‑based solutions for new business or infra needs.
Develop custom utility scripts for infra monitoring, batch job automation, and report generation.
Conduct code reviews and knowledge sharing to improve team scripting standards.
