GENERAL SUMMARY
Assist in the implementation of the halfway house’s programme and services. Provide administrative support to the counsellors/case worker.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in conducting pre-placement interviews with HWH’s residents to understand and assess their needs, work with them to set goals, develop case plans to address concerns.
- Prepare and maintain Individualised Service Plans (ISPs), progress and closure reports.
- Provide support for basic intervention tasks identified by social workers.
- Assist with referral and information and provide support for basic intervention tasks identified by social worker/ manager.
- Manage and refer complaints, issues, concerns or requests from HWH’s residents to Social Worker / Manager when necessary.
- Foster motivation and engagement residents through their daily interaction and ensure the daily needs of residents are well taken care of.
- Assist in monitoring and enforcement of workplace safety and health standards.
- Provide administrative, operational and logistic support in planning and conducting programme and activities for HWH’s residents and staffs (e.g. prosocial activities, community services projects, group work, events and meetings).
- Assist with administration, operational and engagement of volunteers.
- Ensure HWH’s programme meets the mission, objectives and procedures of case management services for HWH’s residents.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This is a full‑time position and may require occasional evening or weekend work. The Social Work Associate will primarily work in an office setting but may need to support operational and/or logistics duties within the halfway house and in the community.
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least Diploma in social work‑related discipline for social worker associate.
- At least Certificate in community care and social services or equivalent for social worker aide.
- Satisfactory completion of an in‑service halfway care training programme within the halfway house or similar facility with at least 2 years of work experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel, as well as able to perform basic statistical analysis.
- Able to work independently and in a team.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
- At least 2 years of continuous sobriety (applicable to ex‑offenders).
