About Us

We are seeking a polished, attentive, and hardworking Service Crew & Culinary Assistant to join the small, high-performing team at Sushi Masa by Ki-Setsu. This role is essential in delivering an exceptional omakase experience to our guests. You will support Chef Masa in ingredient preparation and light cooking, while also performing refined, attentive service during dinner. As part of our intimate 8-seat counter, you will play a key role in ensuring each guest enjoys a seamless and memorable dining experience. This position operates on a 6‑day work week.

Key Responsibilities
Guest Service & Front‑of‑House Duties
  • Provide warm, professional, and attentive service throughout the dinner seating.
  • Maintain immaculate cleanliness and organisation at the counter and dining area before, during, and after service.
  • Coordinate closely with the Chef to ensure smooth pacing and flow of the omakase menu.
  • Support guest needs promptly and discreetly, maintaining the high standards of our refined dining environment.
Culinary Preparation & Light Cooking
  • Assist with preliminary preparation of seasonal ingredients, including washing, cleaning, cutting, and portioning under the guidance of the Chef.
  • Support light cooking tasks such as grilling, plating, and assembling dishes as instructed.
  • Assist in setup and breakdown of the kitchen and service areas each day.
Hygiene, Cleaning & Maintenance
  • Uphold strict hygiene, cleanliness, and organisation across all kitchen, service, and storage areas.
  • Perform daily and weekly cleaning duties, including wiping surfaces, washing utensils, clearing bins, and maintaining equipment.
  • Clean, sanitise, and restock dishware and tools to ensure uninterrupted service.
Requirements
  • Prior experience in service, kitchen support, or food preparation is preferred; fine dining or Japanese cuisine experience is a significant advantage.
  • Strong commitment to cleanliness, organisation, and a disciplined work ethic.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high‑pressure and intimate omakase setting.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions closely.
  • Comfortable interacting with guests and delivering a refined level of service.
  • Able to stand for long hours and carry moderately heavy items when needed.
  • 6‑day work week commitment is required.
