A key player in industrial automation seeks a dynamic sales engineer to strengthen customer relationships and drive growth across the Asia-Pacific region. Ideal candidates will have a background in Electrical or Electronics Engineering and demonstrate strong sales skills with a technical focus. Responsibilities include identifying automation opportunities and working closely with teams to develop proposals. This position offers significant travel and a collaborative working environment.
We are seeking a dynamic and driven sales engineer and proven track record to join our Sales team. With a self-driven mindset in developing and maintaining key customer relationships in the industrial automation sector, this role will support the accelerated growth of Excel Marco across the Asia-Pacific region.
A Degree/Diploma in Electrical, Electronics Engineering, Control, Instrument or Mechatronics with good business acumen and commercial sense will be required along with outstanding presentation and interpersonal communication skills with initiative and drive. Create and Identify Automation / Smart Solutions opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to promoting sales volume
Strong sense of hunting and developing new opportunities / customers
Understand customer needs to uncover opportunities cross selling technology / service solutions
Present value messaging effectively to customers with solutions selling mindset
Develop, qualify and drive Automation business-oriented opportunities from concept to closure
Evaluate Technical and commercial proposals by collaborating with internal teams
Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and customer relationships
Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the Industrial Automation solutions market, key trends, the competitive landscape and enterprise use cases
Work closely with the team to develop solution proposals
Keep track of industrial, statutory and regulatory bodies requirements and updates to determine the impact on the business and assess potential opportunities
5–10 years of relevant sales experience in industrial automation projects (non-managerial roles preferred)
At least 3 years of hands‑on experience in Automation technologies or Smart Manufacturing.
Strong understanding of systems integration, industrial control systems (PLC, SCADA, DCS).
Proven track record in developing and closing complex, technical sales opportunities.
Established network or exposure to customers in at least one of the following sectors: Oil & Gas (onshore/offshore), Marine Engineering, Water Management, Waste Management and/or Power / Energy Utilities
Willingness to travel extensively and adapt to various market environments.
Familiarity with Sales and Proposal of various Control Systems such as PLC, SCADA, DCS will be an added advantage
Able to travel extensively within short notice & to developing countries
