Job summary

An insurance company in Singapore is seeking a qualified finance professional to manage expense accrual and reporting. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing expense allocations, preparing reports, and supporting audits. Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or Finance and have 4-6 years of relevant experience, preferably with knowledge in SAP. Fluency in English and Chinese is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Accountancy or Finance.
  • 4-6 years relevant finance and accounting experience.
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English and Chinese.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely accrual of expenses and fixed assets.
  • Prepare accrual journals and pre-payment schedule for monthly closing.
  • Support on year-end audit, prepare audit schedules related to accruals and fixed assets.

Position Objective:

  • Ensure accurate and timely accrual of expenses and fixed assets
  • Ensure expenses are recorded in accordance to MAS320
  • Ensure timely reporting of Actual vs Budget

Job Description:

  • Review accrual of expenses and fixed assets. Ensure expenses coded to correct insurance fund and cost center. Ensure lease is accounted in accordance to FRS16
  • Review payment of expenses and commissions. Ensure all payments are duly approved. Ensure payments are disbursed from appropriate bank accounts to minimize inter-fund transactions
  • Prepare accrual journals and pre-payment schedule for monthly closing. Monitor and reverse accrual and pre-payment on timely basis
  • Perform monthly expense allocation and true-up at year-end
  • Perform recording and settlement of inter-fund settlement
  • Prepare Actual VS. Budget reports required by HK Head Office
  • Monitor and prepare expense reports at department level. Perform analysis to explain flux
  • Perform reconciliation for commissions between SAP and distribution system
  • Maintain SAP accounting period
  • Support on year-end audit, prepare audit schedules for accrual, non-policy payables, prepayment, fixed assets and Agency incentive amortization
  • Any other duties as may be assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Accountancy, Finance. CPA/ACCA member is preferred.
  • 4-6 years relevant Finance and accounting experience
  • Proficient in SAP, excel, word and powerpoint
  • More than 3 years experience in insurance finance operations
  • Good to have experience in process automation and RPA tools.
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English and Chinese
