Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a Head of Technology Engineering to lead the end‑to‑end development and solutions of digital application capabilities, fit for purpose for our asset management business across Asia, through the orchestration of various tools, frameworks, and technologies.

The ideal candidate is passionate about creating impactful technology solutions from the ground up, with a strong entrepreneurial mindset.

The role should ensure technology solutions are aligned with regional and local market needs and regulatory requirements.

• Together with the Group Chief Information Officer, develop technology initiatives that aligns with UOBAM’s strategic and business objectives
• Oversee the architecture, design and development of UOBAM digital platforms ensuring scalability, security and high performance
• Work closely with regional and local business teams such as investment teams, compliance and operations to understand business requirements and translate them into engineering solutions
• Continuously assess and improve system performance, user experience, and operational workflows
• Explore and integrate emerging technologies, such as Generative AI, AI/ML and big data tools, to enhance investment decision‑making and operational efficiencies
• Good understanding on building AI Agents with different AI Models and Identify High‑leverage AI use cases aligned with business goals and adopt them to achieve operational efficiency.
• Lead the modernization of legacy systems, transitioning to cloud native architectures where appropriate
• Ensure applications and application designs are in compliance with the diverse regulatory requirements across UOBAM’s offices throughout APAC

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred
• 10+ years of progressive experience in end‑to‑end financial software development
• 5+ years leading engineering teams in financial services such as investment bank, asset management or capital markets
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, JavaScript, and C#, showcasing versatility in building diverse technology solutions.
• Proactive leader who takes initiative and drives execution with urgency and precision.
• Demonstrated experience of successful delivery of AI‑centric platforms, multi‑language development projects, and full‑cycle engineering leadership from ideation to deployment.
• Built compliant and secure investment systems aligned with financial regulations
• Delivered scalable trading platforms supporting multi‑asset strategies
• Expertise in real‑time market data integration and low‑latency performance
• Understanding in cloud platform services
• Understanding of asset management data models
• Experienced in multi‑jurisdictional system design and localization
• Collaborated with regional stakeholders and managed local tech vendors
• Deep understanding of global market infrastructure, regulations, and asset classes
• Familiar with fintech ecosystems and competitive landscape
