Our client, a leading global bank, is seeking an experienced FX Operations Specialist to join their Global Markets Operations team. This is a critical front-to-back role supporting the entire trade lifecycle for the bank’s FX business. The successful candidate will ensure efficient, accurate, and risk‑controlled post‑trade processing across confirmation, settlement, reconciliation, and controls.

Key Responsibilities

1. End-to-End Trade Lifecycle Management:

  • Process and validate FX trades from trade date through to settlement and maturity.
  • Manage daily settlement flows via the systems.
  • Oversight of pre‑settlement matching, fail management, and reconciliation.
  • Ensure timely and accurate confirmation/affirmation with counterparties.

2. Risk & Control:

  • Identify, elevate, and resolve operational risks and breaks.
  • Ensure strict adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and market deadlines.
  • Contribute to control enhancements, root cause analysis, and audit/compliance reviews.

3. Stakeholder Engagement & Business Partnership:

  • Act as the contact point for the FX Trading business, providing real‑time support and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with Business, Middle Office, Finance, Treasury, and Technology on process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Participate in New Product Approval processes to ensure operational readiness for new products/changes.

4. Process Improvement & Projects:

  • Drive initiatives to improve operational process, automate manual processes, and enhance scalability.
  • Contribute to system migrations, upgrades, and integration projects (e.g., new trading platforms, settlement systems).
Requirements
  • 3–7 years of FX Operations experience within a global bank, investment firm, or prime brokerage.
  • In‑depth knowledge of FX products and their end‑to‑end processing.
  • Strong understanding of operational risk, controls, and regulatory landscape.
  • Strong risk management and control mindset. Strong awareness of both external and internal best practice perspectives, maintaining a balanced and fresh viewpoint.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to lead initiatives and mentor junior team members.
