Job Description:

  • Conduct one-on-one fitness assessments and consultations with senior members to understand their individual health and fitness goals, limitations, and preferences. Design personalized fitness programs tailored to the specific needs and abilities of senior members, incorporating elements of strength training, cardiovascular exercises, flexibility, and balance training

  • Provide hands-on instruction, guidance, and supervision during individual and group fitness sessions, ensuring proper form, technique, and safety at all times. Motivate and encourage senior members to adhere to their fitness programs, offering ongoing support, feedback, and modifications as needed to ensure progress and prevent injury.

  • Lead group fitness classes specifically designed for seniors, incorporating a variety of exercises and activities aimed at improving strength, flexibility, mobility, and overall functional fitness.

  • Educate senior members on the importance of regular exercise, proper nutrition, hydration, and rest for maintaining physical health, mental well-being, and independent living. Monitor senior members' progress, track fitness goals, and provide regular progress updates and feedback to promote accountability and motivation.

  • Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming fitness environment, including equipment setup, sanitation, and organization.

  • Stay informed about the latest trends, research, and best practices in senior fitness, and incorporate new techniques and strategies into program design and implementation

  • Collaborate with other Fitness Associates, instructors, and staff members to promote a positive and supportive community environment within Gym Tonic

Job Requirements:

  • At least Diploma in Exercise Science or related field preferred.

  • At least 1-2 years of working experience with the public, preferably with the elderly

  • A good team player with a positive attitude, strong interpersonal, and effective communication skills.

  • Possess a passionate disposition to interact and care for seniors.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate senior members' schedules
