Job description

Position Summary:

The firm is looking for a Senior Finance Manager with regional experience to join the Singapore-based team. The regional Senior Finance Manager will play a key role in managing the finance and operations across our regional offices, providing oversight, support and strategic insight into the global finance team. This position offers a great opportunity to work closely with senior leadership, investment teams and key stakeholders to ensure financial and operational excellence and compliance with regulatory standards in the regional offices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Lead the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for APAC management companies and SPVs.
  • Ensure that financial reporting is accurate, timely, and compliant with local (Chinese Accounting Standards (CAS) , India GAAP) and international accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP, etc.).
  • Prepare detailed financial analysis, including variance analysis, KPIs, and profitability metrics, to guide decision-making for both management companies and SPVs for investments.
  • Manage annual audit and tax filing process for all management entities and SPVs.
  • Coordinate with legal teams on fund structuring and tax planning initiatives across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Manage MAS reporting requirements for Singapore-based entities and familiarity with S13 exemptions.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Manage and oversee the budgeting and forecasting processes for the region, ensuring alignment with the firm’s expense policy and business objectives.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to create and maintain financial plans that support the firm’s growth and value creation goals internally and portfolio companies.
  • Investment Support and Due Diligence:
  • Provide support to investment team for potential investments, including financial due diligence, valuation, and scenario analysis
  • Support senior investment professionals in deal structuring and financial evaluation of investment opportunities.

Cash Flow Management:

  • Monitor and optimize the cash flow of regional portfolio companies, working with CFOs and global finance teams to manage liquidity and capital allocation.
  • Ensure proper financial controls are in place to mitigate risk and maximize operational efficiency.
  • Serve as primary liaison for banking relationships and treasury operations.

Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting:

  • Prepare and present detailed financial reports to internal stakeholders, including the VP, Finance and senior leadership, to highlight portfolio performance and potential risks.
  • Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, and legal teams to ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Process Improvement & Team Leadership:
  • Continuously review and improve financial processes, systems, and reporting mechanisms to drive operational efficiency.
  • Provide leadership and be Subject Matter Expert to other cross functional staffs, ensuring development of team capabilities and fostering a collaborative working environment.
  • Manage local compliance requirements including corporate governance and regulatory reporting.
  • Handle ad hoc projects such as custodian or broker account opening and KYC requirements from time to time.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA/CA preferred).
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in finance or accounting roles, coupled with a minimum of 3 years in a senior finance or managerial role within Private Equity or Venture Capital
  • Familiarity with Singapore MAS and S13 tax regulation, China Corporate Law, AMAC regulations, and India FDI and FEMA regulations to deal with local regulators is highly preferred.
  • Experience with investment evaluation, due diligence, and portfolio management.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of private equity, venture capital, or asset management principles, financial markets, and local regulations.
  • Prior experience interacting with investors and limited partners or institutional fundraise a plus
