Job Description

You will support the functions of the Clinical Governance & Quality (CGQ) primarily in the areas of data management and analytics, hospital policies and processes and secretariat support for committees. In carrying out the various duties, you will be required to work very closely with the senior management, clinical chiefs and doctors, patient care staff and other CGQ staff members.

Responsibilities
  • Function as system administrator for the hospital incident reporting system. Perform testing, troubleshooting and system configuration as required. Conduct screening of incidents reported and flag serious patient safety events for further review.
  • Assist with data preparation and statistical analysis in clinical quality and patient safety related activities, such as international benchmarking, quality datamart, quality improvement projects etc.
  • Use Statistical Process Control methodology to identify trends and variations in clinical quality and patient safety data and indicators.
  • Design and implement automated dashboards and reports for departmental and hospital-wide users.
  • Collate and process formalised patients’ data. Identify and address data quality issues and facilitate data requests from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate patient safety & quality culture building efforts (e.g quality events, speak-up campaign, publicity materials).
  • Provide secretariat support for Quality & Value Council where the scope of work includes arranging meetings, preparing meeting minutes, drafting meeting slides and coordinating/following up on matters arising, etc.
  • Support the department’s work related to hospital accreditation and audits (e.g., MOH hospital licensing, SARU).
Requirements
Competency
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a meticulous approach to data quality and accuracy. Strong track record in maintaining data integrity and implementing rigorous quality control measures in data management.
  • Expert-level skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VBA, advanced functions).
  • Proficient in data analytics, including experience with statistical analysis, predictive modelling, and data visualisation tools.
  • Knowledge of SQL, Python, or R is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of statistical concepts and their practical applications in healthcare settings.
  • Strong command of English language (written and spoken).
Educational and Professional Requirements
  • Degree holder with at least 2 to 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
