Job summary

A leading medical technology company in Singapore is seeking an experienced accountant for a 7-month contract focused on GL and reporting. About the Role

This position is an integral part of the team and is mainly responsible for GL and Reporting functions. The individual will also perform other duties, ad hoc assignments, and projects assigned.

This is a 7-month contract.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Validate accuracy and completeness of accounting postings for the relevant closing period, including accounting postings by outsourced accounting partner.
  • Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and analysis.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet schedules.
  • Maintain the fixed assets register, perform AUC (Assets under Construction) account review, and process write-off disposal.
  • Perform GST reconciliation on a quarterly basis.
  • Responsible for monthly closing time.
  • Ensure accounting records are prepared in accordance with FRS and all statutory requirements.
  • Liaise with auditors and support statutory audits, including preparation of audit schedules and responses to audit queries.
  • Ensure proper documentation and audit trails for all financial transactions and adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, Policies, internal control procedures, and accounting policies.
  • Support the review of existing processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties, ad hoc assignments, and projects assigned.

What We Are Looking For
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience with exposure to GL and reporting.
  • Prior external audit background will be an added value.
  • Possess at least a Diploma in Accountancy or equivalent. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
  • A good team player who is independent, has a positive work attitude, is proactive, meticulous, and detail-oriented.
  • Able to work under tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications, with in-depth knowledge of MS Excel and other applications.
  • Good working knowledge of SAP systems.
