Senior / Engineering Assistant (Mechanical), Facilities Management (2 Year Contract)

Broad Function

The Engineering Assistant (Mechanical) shall report to the Senior Manager and assist in the execution and management of Facilities Management (FM) services, such as operation, maintenance, modification, replacement and etc. activities under Mechanical Engineering services and non-clinical equipment. In addition, the staff shall provide support to audit and monitor the prescribed KPIs of the maintenance services rendered by the specialist vendors and outsourced Maintenance Service Provider. To support, implement and manage as necessary in cyclical and improvement projects by both the department and hospital.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
Specific
  • To assist Senior Manager in overseeing Preventive & Corrective Maintenance (PM & CM) scheduling & coordination work. Manage outsourced MaintenanceService Provider day-to-day works for mechanical system such as Potable and NEWater System, Hot Water System, Irrigation System, Water Purification System, Ejector & Sewage System, Water Treatment Plant, Fire Protection System and etc.
  • To assist Senior Manager to oversee the performance of outsourced Maintenance Service Provider and specialist vendors to ensure good maintenance standards are maintained and planned PM schedules are met.
  • Ensure prompt service recovery for any breakdown of equipment and systems to minimize disruption to hospital service operations.
  • To assist Senior Manager to oversee and coordinate improvements projects to the hospital services and facilities as well as upgrading of systems and equipment components.
  • To assist Senior Manager for improvement works to existing hospital facilities such as renovation and retrofitting, replacement of system infrastructure and improvement initiatives to existing specialized systems and hospital facilities.
  • To ensure accuracy of PM & CM reports, checklists, and proper documentation.
General
  • Oversee outsourced Maintenance Service Provider team’s safety practice and work conduct and ensure good maintenance standards are implemented.
  • Ensure prompt service recovery for any breakdown of equipment and systems to minimize disruption to hospital service operations.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by HOD.
Job Requirement
Education / Training / Experience
  • Diploma or Higher Nitec/Nitec in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 1-4 years of experience or ITE graduate with at least 5 years’ mechanical system experience.
  • Have prior experience with design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical systems & equipment will be an added advantage.
  • Prior experience in management of mechanical services and facilities operation as well as improvement projects will be an advantage.
  • Prior working experience in healthcare setting will be an advantage.
  • Conversant in reading and interpreting architectural and M&E schematic drawings.
  • Conversant in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD. Ability to use 3D perspective drawing software such as BIM will be an added advantage.
