Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Singapore is seeking a Mechanical Designer to independently perform mechanical design and equipment sizing compliant with standards. The ideal candidate should have over 5 years of relevant experience in the marine/offshore industry, proficient in AutoCAD and AVEVA. Responsibilities include assisting in project operations, reviewing machinery calculations, and coordinating with vendors. This position offers a chance to work on new building projects and technical issues in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in Machinery newbuilding design in the Marine/Offshore industry.
• Familiar with Class rules and statutory requirements.
• Good knowledge of machinery, piping, and HVAC design.

Position Summary

Position Summary Indpendently perform the Mechanical design (2D & 3D) and equipment sizing to comply with Class and Technical specification requirements within assigned schedule.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Assist Section Project Lead in day to day operations, perform the assigned mechanical task under quality and schedule and review and advise the project’s design mode & standard
• Report the project daily discipline (Man-hour/Schedule etc.)
• Able to work with other team members for the overall progress of the project
• Prepare & Review machineries calculation, specification and vendor's drawing, 2D SLD/DLD design & submission & 3D model and production & site related drawings/supports
• Support Project Section Lead in Mechanical Technical issue & Coordinate with Shipyard /Consultant / Vendor
• Responsible to Mechanical Project Section Lead/ Mechanical Technical Lead
• Project Handling- New building project, Repair, Upgrading, Conversion project

Job Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in theMachinery newbuilding design in the Marine/Offshore industry
• Familiar with AutoCAD/ MS office / AVEVA
• Familiar with Class rules, Statutory requirement
• Good knowledge of machinery/ piping/HVAC design
• Good communication and analysis skills
