You will act as the senior custodian of TGR’s design standards, working closely with external design consultants and internal teams including Real Estate, Construction, Operations, and Facilities. The role requires strong project leadership, cost and schedule awareness, and the ability to drive consistency while enabling innovation across projects.

You will also mentor junior designers and contribute to the ongoing evolution of TGR’s workplace design approach.

The role reports to the Design & Construction Director and will be based in Singapore, with regular travel across the APAC region.

What you’ll do

Design Leadership
  • Lead the design of multiple TGR projects from concept through design development, documentation, construction, and launch.
  • Define and steward the design vision for each project, ensuring alignment with TGR’s brand, hospitality standards, and operational requirements.
  • Oversee the selection and specification of finishes, furniture, artwork, accessories, and greenery to deliver cohesive, experience-led spaces.
  • Review base-building documentation and identify design implications, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, programme, and budget.
  • Partner closely with Construction and Project Management teams to ensure design feasibility, buildability, and cost efficiency through value engineering.
  • Review and sign off on consultant deliverables to ensure design intent, quality, and operational performance are met.
Team & Process Management
  • Lead, support, and mentor designers, providing clear direction, feedback, and opportunities for professional growth.
  • Coordinate closely with internal teams including Real Estate, Construction, Operations, and Facilities to deliver projects on time, on budget, and on brand.
  • Establish and maintain consistent design processes, templates, and review milestones to improve efficiency and consistency across projects.
  • Contribute to the ongoing refinement of TGR’s design standards, identifying opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Stay attuned to design, material, and hospitality trends that enhance the TGR member experience.
Strategic & Financial Oversight
  • Collaborate with Pre-Construction and Finance teams to develop and manage project budgets and design-to-budget strategies.
  • Maintain strong financial awareness throughout all project phases, proactively managing design decisions that impact cost, timeline, and delivery.
  • Support Operations and Facilities teams on capital improvement projects, applying design thinking to enhance existing spaces.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to align design outcomes with broader business objectives and long-term growth strategy.

  • Proven track record leading design from concept through construction on high-end commercial interiors across multiple regions.
  • Strong knowledge of local building regulations, accessibility standards, and permitting processes.
  • Familiarity with Revit is essential; with AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
  • Ability to read and mark-up architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings to ensure design intent and technical coordination.
  • Demonstrated strength in managing design budgets, schedules, and consultant scopes to maintain control across all project phases.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design concepts to both creative and non-design audiences.
  • Experience managing cross-functional design teams and external consultant networks.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
