Job summary

An engineering consultancy firm in Singapore is seeking a Business Development Manager with extensive experience in MEP construction and specific industry knowledge in waferfab, semiconductors, and life sciences. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering and has at least 10 years in the field. This role involves strategic planning, customer engagement, and leading tender submissions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of working experience in MEP construction industry.
  • Must have experience in waferfab, semicon, life science, pharma, or chemical industry.
  • Prior experience in engineering consultancy, construction, or manufacturing industry.

Job description
  • Participates in the formulation and implementation of BD strategies and activities.
  • Initiate business connections with customers, suppliers and contractors, consultants, institutions, and government bodies.
  • Promotes sales & marketing programs, CRM, presentations, business proposals, sales forecasts, internal feedback for improvement and studies of key success / failure elements.
  • Acts as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and point of contact for customers in specific industry segments (e.g., wafer fabrications, semiconductors, life sciences, pharma, or chemical industries).
  • Participates in tender bidding, conducts engineering studies, plans resources, costing proposals, leads tender clarifications, consolidates tender submissions and attends tender meetings.
  • Understand reporting tools and models, manages the customer database, creates, monitors, and updates all opportunities, key performance indicators (KPIs) and trend analysis relevant to sales performance.
  • Displays and promotes companys ethics, core values and leaderships principles.
  • Maximises employee morale, motivation, team spirit, manages industrial relations and enforces discipline where necessary with HoD / HR.
  • Portrays the Company's image to its advantage.
  • Projects a positive role model to Company staff.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of Company systems.
  • Ad hoc duties as determined by management.
Job Qualifications :
  • Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering.
  • MBA, Degree or Diploma in Marketing (if any) PMP (if any)
  • Minimum 10 years of working experience in MEP construction industry and must have experience in waferfab, semicon, life science, pharma, or chemical industry.
  • Minimum 5 years network exposure in Singapore or Malaysia.
  • Prior experience in engineering consultancy, construction or manufacturing industry.
  • Understand project management tools in various aspect, such as tendering, QS, safety, QA / QC, construction supply chain, contracting and commercial terms.
