Position Overview

The Senior Account Executive will support the Finance Manager in managing daily financial operations, month-end closing activities, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This role covers full sets of accounts, compliance with accounting and regulatory standards, as well as involvement in tax and audit matters. The successful candidate will serve as a key finance partner to both business and operational teams.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
Daily Financial Operations
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations across multiple bank accounts and cash count. Ensuring timely recording in the accounting system.
  • Process vendor payments, staff claims, refunds, and customer-related transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, SFRS/IFRS standards, and company accounting policies.
Month-End Closing Activities
  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjustments for month-end closing.
  • Reconcile ledger accounts, including inventory, payables and receivables.
  • Assist in preparing management reports, intercompany reconciliation, and financial analysis to head office.
  • Support the Finance Manager in variance analysis and other closing-related tasks.
Precious Metal Inventory & Transaction Support
  • Assist in reconciling inventory movements, including buyback and transfers.
  • Coordinate with retail teams to verify stock counts and investigate discrepancies.
Compliance & Audit Support
  • Support internal and external audit requirements.
  • Assist in statutory audit such as preparation of full set of financial statements.
  • Ensure adherence to regulations and company policies (if applicable).
  • Maintain accurate records for audit trail and compliance checks.
Process Improvement & Administrative Support
  • Identify opportunities to enhance financial workflows and accuracy.
  • Assist in documentation and updating of accounting SOPs.
  • Provide general administrative and operational support to the Finance Manager.
Candidate Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, ideally with ACCA or CPA.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in retail, trading, or investment-related industries.
Technical Skills
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics) is an advantage.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Good understanding of financial controls, reconciliations, and month-end processes.
  • Understand basic taxation and GST concepts.
Soft Skills
  • Strong attention to detail with high accuracy in financial work.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Strong sense of integrity and confidentiality.
