Job summary

A leading logistics company in Singapore is looking for a Security Officer to manage vehicle flow and ensure the safety of goods at the warehouse. The role requires a valid security license and communication skills in English and Chinese. Responsibilities include directing vehicles, conducting safety checks, and managing visitors. Candidates should be physically fit for outdoor work and have experience in a logistics or warehouse environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Direct vehicles to the correct loading/unloading lots.
• Manage incoming vehicle queues to prevent congestion.
• Check outgoing vehicles for correct delivery orders.
• Conduct random vehicle load checks for unauthorized materials.
• Register all visitors and contractors.
• Enforce PPE rules among warehouse staff and drivers.
• Open and close the warehouse daily.
• Report safety hazards and blocked exits.

Working Hours

5.5 Days | Normal Working Hours 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM & 8:00AM – 12:00PM Saturday

Job Purpose

To manage the orderly flow of incoming vehicles and ensure the security of goods and warehouse premises during daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

• 1. Traffic & Loading Bay Management
  • Vehicle Marshalling: Direct trucks, prime movers, trailers, small trucks, and delivery vans to the correct loading/unloading lot.
  • Congestion Control: Manage the queue of incoming vehicles at the gate to prevent long period parking at our warehouse premises.
• 2. Gate & Inventory Security
  • Delivery Verification: Check that all outgoing vehicles have the correct Delivery Orders (DO).
  • Asset Protection: Conduct random checks on vehicle loads to ensure no unauthorized hardware or materials are leaving the site.
  • Visitor Management: Register all visitors/contractors.
• 3. Safety & Facility Checks
  • PPE Enforcement: Ensure all drivers and workers in the warehouse are wearing proper safety gear (safety shoes, vests).
  • Warehouse Opening/Closing: Perform daily morning opening of the warehouse and ensure all shutters, gates, and lights are secured at the end of the work day.
  • Hazard Reporting: Identify and report any blocked fire exits, leaking materials, or damaged perimeter fencing.

Requirements

• Certification: Valid PLRD Security License (Security Officer grade).
• Experience: Experience in a warehouse, hardware yard, or logistics hub is an advantage.
• Communication: Able to speak/write basic English and Chinese to handle delivery paperwork and communicate with drivers.
• Physical Fitness: Must be comfortable working in a warehouse/outdoor environment.
• Attitude: Firm in enforcing rules, but polite when dealing with suppliers and customers.
