Job summary

A leading educational services provider in Singapore seeks a dedicated mentor for Higher Needs Students. The role involves conducting motivational talks, leading light physical activities, and ensuring students complete their homework. Home visits are also part of the duties to engage families. This contract runs from 1 February 2026 to 31 January 2027, with working hours from Monday to Wednesday and Thursday to Friday.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in counselling or working with families with children and youth.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Serve as a dedicated befriender and mentor to Higher Needs Students.
  • Plan and conduct motivational talks to inspire students.
  • Lead and facilitate age-appropriate physical exercises.
  • Serve as a Teacher Chaperone for after-school learning journeys.
  • Monitor and ensure completion of homework.
  • Conduct home visits to engage parents and understand student needs.

Job Scope:
  • One-on-One Support: Serve as a dedicated befriender and mentor to Higher Needs Students (HNS).
  • Motivational Talks: Plan and conduct motivational talks to inspire students and build resilience, drawing on personal experiences, where appropriate.
  • Physical Activity: Lead and facilitate simple, age-appropriate physical exercises or light physical activities with students to promote mental and physical well‑being.
  • Learning Journeys: Serve as a Teacher Chaperone for after‑school learning journeys. Administrative duties such as bus bookings, procurement, etc. are not required.
  • Homework Care: Monitor and ensure completion of homework.
  • Home Visits: Conduct home visits as required, in coordination with the school’s Student Welfare Officer (SWO), to engage parents/guardians and better understand the student’s home environment and support needs.
Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of experience in counselling or working with families with children and youth.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Contract Period:

From 1 February 2026 to 31 January 2027

  • Mon‑Wed, from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm
  • Thu‑Fri, from 7:30 am to 12:00 pm
  • Service is not required on Saturdays, Sundays, gazetted public holidays and school holidays.
