Job summary

A local educational organization in Singapore is seeking an experienced individual to support Higher Needs Students (HNS) through mentorship, motivational talks, and physical activities. The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of relevant experience and be skilled in interpersonal communication. Responsibilities include conducting home visits and ensuring homework completion. Qualifications

  • At least 2 years experience counselling or working with families, children and youth.
  • Experience planning or leading motivational, educational or physical activities for children and youth is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a befriender and mentor to Higher Needs Students (HNS).
  • Plan and conduct motivational talks to inspire students.
  • Lead age-appropriate physical exercises or activities.
  • Serve as a Teacher Chaperone for learning journeys.
  • Monitor completion of homework.
  • Conduct home visits to engage parents/guardians.

Working Hours
  • Mon‑Wed, 7.30‑5.00 (lunch 12‑13)
  • Thu‑Fri, 7.30‑12.00
  • No Sat, Sun, public holidays or school holidays.
Requirement

Key Roles
  1. One‑On‑One Support: Serve as a befriender and mentor to Higher Needs Students (HNS).
  2. Motivational Talks: Plan and conduct motivational talks to inspire students and build resilience, drawing on personal experiences where appropriate.
  3. Physical Activity: Lead and facilitate simple, age‑appropriate physical exercises or light physical activities with students to promote mental and physical well‑being.
  4. Learning Journeys: Serve as a Teacher Chaperone for after‑school learning journeys. Administrative duties such as bus bookings or procurement are not required.
  5. Homework Care: Monitor and ensure completion of homework.
  6. Home Visits: Conduct home visits as required, in coordination with the school’s Student Welfare Officer (SWO), to engage parents/guardians and better understand the student’s home environment and support needs.
