Job summary

A reputed IT service provider in Singapore seeks an experienced SAP HR-ABAP Developer to enhance and support their HR landscape. Responsibilities include developing HR-ABAP programs, building OData services, and collaborating with functional consultants. Ideal candidates have strong ABAP skills and familiarity with HR business processes. This is a full-time, 12-month contract position.

SAP HR-ABAP Developer – 1-Year Contract

Location: Central Singapore

Contract Type: 12-Month Contract (Full-Time)

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced SAP HR-ABAP Developer to support and enhance their HR landscape across core modules such as Personnel Administration (PA), Organizational Management (OM), Time Management, and Payroll. You will be responsible for end-to-end development activities, including RICEFW objects, interfaces, OData services, Adobe Forms, and workflows, working closely with functional consultants and business stakeholders to deliver robust and scalable HR solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and enhance HR-ABAP programs, reports, and enhancements (BADIs, User Exits, BAPIs) for core HR modules:
    • Personnel Administration (PA)
    • Organizational Management (OM)
    • Time Management
    • Payroll
  • Perform RICEFW development for SAP HR customizations and enhancements.
  • Build, maintain, and troubleshoot OData services to support Fiori/UI5 applications.
  • Design and implement inbound and outbound interfaces (e.g. via SFTP) for HR data exchange with external systems.
  • Develop and maintain Adobe Forms (HR Forms/Smartforms) for HR processes such as payslips, contracts, and other HR letters.
  • Design, enhance, and support SAP workflows and approval scenarios.
  • Perform debugging, root cause analysis, and performance optimization for ABAP programs, interfaces, and workflows.
  • Collaborate with functional consultants and business users to understand requirements, propose solutions, and implement changes.
  • Ensure all developments comply with SAP development standards, security, and authorization requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong hands-on experience in HR-ABAP, including:
    • Infotypes
    • HR logical databases
    • Cluster tables (e.g. payroll/time clusters)
  • Proven experience in RICEFW development (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, Workflows).
  • Practical experience in developing and troubleshooting OData services.
  • Experience building interfaces via SFTP for HR data exchange.
  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Forms / HR Forms / Smartforms.
  • Solid experience in SAP Workflows and approval scenarios.
  • Knowledge of Fiori/UI5 and backend integration with SAP.
  • Excellent debugging and performance tuning skills in ABAP.
  • Good understanding of HR business processes (PA, OM, Time, Payroll) and HR authorizations.
