Job summary

A leading engineering and construction firm in Singapore is seeking a Safety Officer to ensure compliance with workplace safety standards and regulations. The ideal candidate should have at least a Professional certificate or Nitec, an Advance Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health, and a minimum of 2 years experience in the construction or manufacturing industry. Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential for this role, as well as physical fitness and a good work ethic.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of working experience in construction/manufacturing industry.
  • Professional knowledge in Law and regulations (WSH Act).
  • Hardworking and driven.

Responsibilities

  • Execute safety measurements as per Workplace Safety & Health Act.
  • Liaise with project managers and clients on safety issues.
  • Ensure adherence to safe work practices by all parties.

Job description
Job Responsibilities:
  1. Execute appropriate safety measurements in accordance with the Workplace Safety & Health Act.
  2. Liaise closely with operations staff, Project Managers, clients, main contractors, consultants and authority etc. on all safety and health issues.
  3. Assist in incident reporting and investigations as well as hold toolbox meeting and all WSH matters execution.
  4. Coordinate and maintain records of safety orientation and daily toolbox meetings.
  5. Ensure safe work practices are adhered to by all parties in the daily site activities.
  6. Perform daily inspection to ensure compliance to prevailing MOM regulations and Company ISO & OSHAS policies.
  7. Attend to all feedbacks on safety irregularities and inform the WSH Officer (FSM) accordingly.
  8. Enforce all safety legislation and in-house safety rules and regulations.
  9. Ensure supervisors and workers are following the safe work procedures compliances.
  10. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Management and the designated manager.
Job Requirement:
  1. At least a Professional certificate / Nitec or equivalent.
  2. Must possess at least an Advance Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health by BCA.
  3. Must possess professional knowledge in Law and regulations (WSH Act мәз Environment).
  4. At least 2 years of working experience in construction / manufacturing industry.
  5. A good team player with good communication skills and multi-tasking.
  6. Physically Fit & Healthy.
  7. Hardworking and driven.
  8. Computer literate with MS Word, Excel, Power Point etc.
  9. Can start work with short notice will be an advantage.
