Job summary

A leading energy recruitment firm is seeking a RISK ANALYST to join their office in Singapore. The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in risk analysis, with strong analytical skills and experience in commodity trading systems. This role involves supporting risk management teams and generating reports to evaluate trading risks. The ideal applicant will possess excellent problem-solving abilities and a strong background in finance or economics.

Qualifications

  • Degree holders in Economics, Finance (preferred major in statistics in Math).
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Risk Analyst role.
  • Experience with Triple Point Commodity XL System or Endure in Openlink.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills and able to perform under tight deadlines.

Job description
Overview

Connect Energy partners with an oil and gas trading company to look for a RISK ANALYST to join their office in Singapore.

Responsibilities
  • To support the Risk Management team on trading (Paper & Physical) on Company's book (Biofuel, Distillates & Fuel oil, Crude etc)
  • Generate report on daily basis with forward curves for trade evaluation
  • Monitor Mark to Market & VAR positions and advise management on trading risk exposures
  • Liaise closely with traders and finance team to ensure accuracy of information and reconcile differences between front, middle and back office
  • Monitor and ensure that trading activities is in compliance with the credit control policies, standards and authority limits set by Company
  • Maintain and update information in trading system and ensure accuracy of P&L figures
  • Responsible for month end closing and reconciliation of management information with accounting results
  • Participate in related projects and provide any other logistic support
  • Implement and maintain internal SOP
  • Identify, interpret and apply corporate governance and policies within business units
  • Apply continuous improvement strategies to improve services or processes across the Organization
  • Maintain working relationships to support project implementation activities and create partnership
  • Ability to identify less perceivable problems and use problem solving tools and techniques to solve problems
  • Aligning with the mission of the organization, content and deadline of the work can be defined by the individual with foresight
  • Deepen insights in the planning, allocation and deployment of resources to anticipate needs.
  • Plan allocation and deployment of resources efficiently and effectively
  • Understand the strength-weak points of members and create synergy in order to create organizational performance
Requirements

  • Experience with Triple Point Commodity XL System or Endure in Openlink
  • Experience in using ETRM, SAP System and good knowledge of Platts / ICE/WTI
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills and able to perform under tight deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel and Powerpoint
  • Good team player with an ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team
